I 1837 kjøpte jekteskipper Karel Hansen Løp gård for 1500 daler.
Løp fikk to nye tun med markert bebyggelse.

Aaron Arnold
ARNOLD, Aaron, merchant, born in the Isle of Wight in 1794; died in New York City, 18 March 1876. He was the son of a farmer, but early showed a fondness for mercantile pursuits, and in 1823 immigrated to Philadelphia, where he lived for three years, studying carefully the comparative business advantages of the different cities of the country. He finally selected New York as the most desirable place, and with his nephew, George A. Hearn, established there, in 1827, a wholesale and retail dry-goods store, under the firm name of Arnold & Hearn. In 1842 Mr. Hearn was succeeded by Mr. Arnold's son-in-law, James M. Constable, and the name of the firm was changed to Aaron Arnold & Company. In 1853 Mr. Arnold's son Richard and J. P. Baker were admitted to the firm, which then became known by its present title, Arnold, Constable & company. In 1869 Mr. Arnold left the active management of the business, and for some time before his death was confined to his house. His success is ascribed, by those who knew him well, to his sterling honesty, his sagacity, and his steadfast adherence to his friends.

Appleton's 1886 Encyclopedia was the most-quoted biographical source for 19th and early 20th America. Even today these biographies are utilized in countless contemporary books, magazines, and newspapers. Appleton's, due to its age, reflects the bias and prejudice of late 19th Century America
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The firm of Arnold & Hearn was established in 1827 by Aaron Arnold, who took his nephew George A. Hearn into partnership with him. Their store was in Canal Street. In 1842 the firm was reorganized, Mr. Hearn going into business with his brother James at 425 Broadway under the style of Hearn Bros., and James M. Constable, a son-in-law of Mr. Arnold, taking his place. The firm was then styled A. Arnold & Co. No further changes took place until 1853 when Richard Arnold, a son of Mr. Arnold, and Joseph P. Baker were admitted to partnership. The firm then became Arnold, Constable & Co. and remains so at the present time. They were located at 311 Canal Street, near Broadway. In 1869, just about the time A. T. Stewart opened his great retail establishment at Ninth Street, Arnold, Constable & Co. moved into the large building at Broadway and Nineteenth Street, where they remained until 1915. During this long period they enjoyed a select class of trade, popularly referred to as "carriage trade." There were others who were favored with this class of business also, but none to the same extent. B. Altman & Co., Stern Bros. and Lord & Taylor had a considerable part of it, and kept the class of goods required for such a clientele, but Arnold, Constable & Co. had the lion's share.
